Be our guest
|

| An essential element of a Benedictine monastery is its warm hospitality and our house is no exception. St. Benedict, in his Rule, devotes a whole, detailed chapter to offering hospitality. We are told: | ||||
|
As
soon as a guest is announced, therefore let the Superior or the brethren
meet him with all charitable service.
|
||||
| St. Benedict
also describes how to make sure that the guest is welcomed like Christ,
whilst at the same time ensuring the brothers are not disturbed. In other
words, hospitality should be lived in such a way that the monastic life
of contemplation which the monks and nuns have chosen is not impeded upon.
We therefore offer people various possibilities to be our guest and in doing so to take part in our monastic life, particularly in celebrating the liturgy. Our guest area has 7
rooms available for men or women who are looking for a place of peace
and prayer for a short or for a longer time.
At Easter and Pentecost and at the turn of the year we invite women of 18 years or more to experience these days with us. The heart of the experience is the celebration of the liturgy, which we help them to experience more fully by offering daily "impulses" and introductions to the liturgy. We invite groups who wish to learn more about our life to attend a slide presentation, to talk with us and to share a time of prayer.
